Tema, Feb. 16, GNA — The maiden Shai Hills Charity Open Golf Championship scheduled for the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema will tee off on Saturday, February 21.
The competition which is being organized by the Celebrity Golf Club in collaboration with Leadership for Conservation in Africa-Ghana, (LCA), is in aid of Shai Hills Resource Reserve.
About 80 golfers are expected to participate. Among the array of golfers expected to take part in the competition which would be played in Four-Ball American scramble format, are Frank Akwasi Poku, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club, Joe Ampofo, Emile Short and Joe Ohemeng, all of Celebrity.
The Tema Country Golf Club 's t eam which would be led by their captain, Noel Hammond, would include Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Alex Fiagomey and Paul Owusu-Baah.
The LCA was formed in 2008 with the support of Ministry of Lands and Forestry and Gold Fields Ghana to see to the development and conservation of the Shai Hill s Resource Reserve.
