Soccer miners, AshantiGold fc extended their lead on the First Capital Plus Premier League (FCPPL) table to five clear points after beating local rivals and defending champions Asante Kotoko 2-1 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Wednesday.

Kotoko striker Latif Amadu gave the visitors the lead in the first half only to see his lead canceled by Yakubu Mohammed's spot-kick late in the half. Bernard Morrison, however, gave the soccer miners the match winner in the second half.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, Hearts of Oak were succumbed to a 1-2 defeat by New Edubiase United courtesy twin brother's Alhassan and Nuhu Fuseini's strikes.

Berekum Chelsea's Kofi Owusu scored the first hat-trick of the 2014/2015 Premier League season as his side beat local rivals Bechem United 4-2 at the Golden City Park.

At the Tarkwa T&A Park it was a give and take affair as Medeama Sporting Club won 3-2 over wonder club Accra Great Olympics. Benjamin Bature scored the first goal for Medeama but Olympics' Agbeshie Dotsie pulled parity for the visitors.

Medeama restored their lead later in the half through Joseph Tetteh but the wonder club canceled the lead again from Dotsie before Kwame Boahen gave the home side the winner in the second half.
