AFCON 2015: Andre Ayew: We will guard against complacency
30.01.2015 LISTEN

Andre Dede Ayew has indicated that the Black Stars will work harder to up their game against the Syli Nationale on Sunday in the quarter finals of the AFCON 2015.

Ghana lost their first AFCON group game against Senegal, but rallied back to earn two successive victories against Algeria and South Africa to set up a date with Guinea, who qualified ahead of Mali through drawing of lots after the two were tied on points, goals scored and goals conceded in group D.

Dede Ayew has stated that Ghana won't be complacent ahead of their game against Guinea, but they will rather work above themselves to book their ticket to the next stage.

'I will try and do better every game, because I know that when I do well it helps the team and so as Gyan, Jordan and the rest of the players, so we will up our game.

'We will not be swollen headed, but will fight harder,' he said.

The 22-year-old midfielder has scored two goals in the ongoing AFCON, including the match winner against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their final group C game.

Ghana have reached the last four of the Africa Cup of Nations, since 2008 and even finished runners-up in 2010.
