Guinea and Mali would have to wait for a Confederation of African Football (CAF) draw of lots tomorrow to determine which of the two neighbours will get through as runners-up to face Ghana in the quarter finals.

This is necessary after both sides finished with identical records in Group D following their 1-1 draw in Mongomo on Wednesday to leave both sides level on 3 points, 3 goals scored and three conceded each in 3 games in Equatorial Guinea.

Ivory Coast have already clinched top spot and booked a date against Algeria in the last 8 on Sunday after Gradel's first half strike in Malabo secured the only victory in 6 Group D matches.

Cameroon who defeated Ivory Coast 4-1 in qualifying finished bottom of the log in the section ensuring that the Indomitable Lions were eliminated at the group stage for the first time at the Africa Cup since 1996.

Mali who finished in third place at the past two tournaments, hope they can upstage their neighbours at tomorrow's draw which's format, a CAF statement explains below:

'In pursuant to Article 74 of the regulations of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, a random draw will be conducted to determine the second place team in Group B, between Mali and Guinea.

The draw will take place during the meeting of the Organising Committee of the Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday, 29 January 2015 at 16H00 local time at the Hilton Malabo.

The names of the two teams will be presented before being placed into two balls. An official from the audience will be invited to take pick up a ball which will be the team that has qualified for the quarter finals..'
