Former Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffuor had a narrow escape when Ghana beat south Africa yesterday, after promising to shave off his hair if the reverse happened.
In the lead up to the game, Kuffuor vowed to shave off his hair live on Supersport TV should South Africa beat Ghana in their Group C decider at the 2015 AFCON.
'If Bafana [Bafana] defeat Ghana [tomorrow], I will shave my hair off LIVE on Television!!,' he tweeted.
South Africa led Ghana 1-0 at half time, but Kuffuor, who is known to cherish his beard and hair, insisted that the Black Stars would carry the day at the end of 90 minutes.
And what a relief it was for the former Bayern Munich star when his compatriots fought from a goal down to win the game, courtesy goals from John Boye and Andre Ayew.
