Thanks but no thanks: Burkina Faso rescue Congo and get beaten the next day

Congo recorded a 2-1 victory over Burkina Faso on Sunday to qualify to the quarter-final of the 2015 African Cup of Nations as group leaders.

The two sides however had an interesting encounter a day to their crunch tie with eventual losers coming to the aid of their Congo adversaries.

The Congo squad were left stranded by the road side prior to the final Group A games after their team bus broke down.

Burkina Faso who were traveling on the same route from Bata to Ebibeyin made the Congo players join their more comfortable mini buses which was almost empty for the rest of the journey three-hour journey.

Burkina Faso went on to deliver their final group game opponents to their destination before moving on to theirs.

The love and kindness was however not replicated in football terms on Sunday evening as Congo defeated Burkina Faso to made their first African Cup of Nations quarterfinal since 1972.
