Augustine Okrah is fired up and raring to go when the Sudani Premier League new season kicks off on Tuesday, the former Bechem United striker setting a target of claiming both goal king and best player awards in addition to guiding Al Merreikh to the Sudan title.

"My ambition is win both best player and goal king for this season's Sudanese league, I also want to play a big part to help my club win this year's league," Okrah told Allsports.com.gh from his Sudan base where he plays alongside compatriot Francis Coffie.

The striker who banged in 16 goals last season to emerge the top scorer of the 2013/14 Ghana Premier League season, is fresh from signing for the Sudan giants following an injury-blighted 6-month loan spell at Swedish top flight side, BK Hacken.

It's a setback the goal poacher is quick to put behind him after launching his Al Merreikh career to the best of starts after claiming the MVP for best player of the club's pre-season Port Sudan Festival Cup victory over Uganda side, KCCA last week.

Okrah had also earlier excelled for Al Merreikh in an impressive 2-2 draw with German giants, Schalke 04 to round up their pre-season tour of Qatar, a match in which he came face to face with more renowned countryman, Kevin-Prince Boateng.

"I am happy the injury setback in Sweden is over and I am fully fit to restart my career here with Al Merreikh in both the Sudani league and the African Champions' league. I can't wait," Okrah said. Follow @thedonplato
