Ghana Football association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has said the black stars could not have lost their second Group game against algeria in mongomo last Friday.

The Black Stars needed nothing less than the three points to keep their dream of going past the group stage alive.

Fortunately for the four-time African champions, skipper of the side Asamoah Gyan powered the Stars with a late clinical strike to hand Ghana all the three points.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS after the game, Nyantakyi said, 'We couldn't have lost this game too. We knew what a second defeat would have done to our campaign. The players were determined to win at all cost.

'They didn't play as we all expected, but they gave us what was important – the three points. We considered the game as one that our very lives depended on.

'We will cut the celebration short, return to the drawing board and see how best we can record another victory and move on. For now, it is a game at a time,' he added.

Tomorrow at the Estadio de Mongomo, Ghana will take on their South African counterparts in their last Group game.
