Akua Donkor Blasts Nkrumah

Controversial politician, Akua Donkor has attributed the hardship in the country to the Convention People's Party (CPP), which was led by Ghana's first president Dr Kwame Nkrumah in the first republic.

Speaking at the congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kumasi on Saturday, Madame Donkor stated categorically that President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC were not responsible for the current hardship in the country so the critics of the first gentleman of the land should leave him alone.

According to the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) leader, Dr. Nkrumah made some weird decisions by changing the country's currency from Pounds to Cedis.

The move, she noted, was the genesis of Ghana's unending problems.

Madame Donkor was supposed to deliver her party's solidarity message but she shockingly decided to use the opportunity to criticize Ivor Greenstreet of the CPP who lambasted the NDC administration for worsening the plight of Ghanaians.

President Mahama knows nothing about the hardship that the citizens are facing in the country so nobody should chastise him,' she indicated.

Jabs Kufuor
Madame Donkor said during ex-President Kufuor's tenure the country faced similar economic problems and this forced the previous NPP administration to take Ghana to HIPC.

'If things were okay in Ghana then why did Kufuor lead the country to HIPC?' she quizzed.

The GFP leader recounted how the famous 'Kufuor gallon' mantra emerged during the NPP era due to the harsh economic conditions.

Those who attack the president over the country's problems are wrong so they should desist from that since the president has delivered to improve the lives of Ghanaians so far, according to her.

She mentioned massive transformation at the harbour and the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange in Accra as some of the significant projects being undertaken by the Mahama administration.

Akua Donkor said there was enough food in the country for the populace, saying God has blessed President Mahama and the blessing is being experienced in the lives of the citizenry.

She described President Mahama as a handsome person who has been blessed by God.

The GFP leader said First Lady Lordina Mahama and ex-President Rawlings are nice people so Ghanaians should be happy to have them.'

The NDC delegates, who were elated about Akua Donkor's pleasant words, urged the controversial politician to continue to shower praises on the president, his wife and Mr. Rawlings.

'If we have Rawlings, Mahama and Lordina, it means God has blessed us as a people,' Akua Donkor said.

Madam Donkor pledged her unalloyed support to the president in the 2016 general elections.

She stated that President Mahama would emerge victorious in the 2016 presidential elections to continue with his good works for the people.

In 2020 I would be elected as Ghana's president on the ticket of GFP to continue with President Mahama's good works, she said, drawing applause from the charged NDC delegates.

Rawlings
Madam Donkor said that the NDC founder worked hard to save the country from total mess in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

According to her, the country was being ruined by corrupt people who were leading the country into the abyss until Mr. Rawlings staged a coup to clean the 'dirty' system.

Ex-President Rawlings, who gave his address after Akua Donkor, said from all indications the GFP leader believes in the values of the NDC so the leadership should encourage her to join the ruling political party.

The former President said he was overwhelmed by the pleasant words of Akua Donkor at the event.
