MIA for last game: Kevin Prince Boatengs flawed football end to the year 2014
20.12.2014 LISTEN

The year started well on football terms for Kevin-Prince Boateng with his career at Schalke 04. The suspended Black Stars player upon his transfer from Italian Serie A side AC Milan was granting the German side with some top performances.

Goals and assists he chipped in for his Schalke 04 side playing in his favourite position behind the main striker. Then Schalke ended the 2013/2014 season on top form.

How Prince Boateng wished that spell of form had not ended when the season came to a close. The Ghanaian player had a torrid FIFA World Cup with the Black Stars in Brazil that saw him get an indefinite suspension from the senior national team.

If Boateng hoped he could have put that bad spell behind him, then that hope was never meant to be.

The Schalke 04 midfielder started the 2014/2015 season with his club poorly which subsequently led to the German press pinning Schalke 04's bad run of form on the Ghana international.

Running down the clock to the final game for Schalke 04 in 2014, Kevin-Prince Boateng who has been struggling with injuries and have been playing in pain according to his club missed the home match against Hamburger SV.

The Ghanaian player however wished his side all the best ahead of the 0-0 draw against Hamburger.

Boateng wrote on Twitter:
'Last home game in 2014!!! Let's go boys s04 glückauf '

That was the only way he could help.
Kevin-Prince Boateng is also set to get another setback on the international level early next year with respect to the Black Stars despite new coach Avram Grant stating his willingness to work with all who will be committed.

The Schalke 04 player has not had enough playing time in the last couple of months, so even if his suspension is lifted before the 2015 African Cup of Nations squad for the Black Stars is released, an inclusion for Kevin-Prince Boateng is highly impossible. Follow @kboakye92
