American Major League Soccer giants Chicago Fire have announced the signing of Ghana attacker David Accam from Helsingborg IF, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm. 

The 24-year-old inked the deal on Friday with GHANAsoccernet.com breaking the news last week of the player's move to the  MLS.

Fire have confirmed the deal on their official website and said the deal is pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and his P1 Visa. Per MLS and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fire Head Coach and Director of Soccer Frank Yallop praised the attacker for his quality and expressed optimism of his success at the club.

“David is an exciting, creative player with a goal-scoring mentality,” he said. “I'm pleased that David will be joining the Fire. He's a key piece as we continue to build a deep squad in preparation for the 2015 season and we're looking forward to having him on our team.”

David who scored 17 Allsvenskan goals for Helsingborg IF last season, expressed joy at his move to the Chicago-based side, thanking head coach and other officials saying he cannot to repay.

“I would also like to thank the coach Frank Yallop, and the owner Andrew Hauptman for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play for the Fire – I cannot wait to repay their faith,” he posted on his Instagram Page.

He becomes the third active Ghana international to move to the American top-flight, joining goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey and Samuel Inkoom.
