Former Arsenal and France dare devil striker Thierry Daniel Henry has announced his retirement from football on Monday after twenty years of humongous achievement in the game.
Pacy and skillful Henry lifted all the major trophies that any footballer could dream of except winning the coveted Ballon d'Or. 'King Henry' won the FIFA World Cup with France in 1998 on home soil where they defeated Brazil in the final match. He also helped Le Blues to win the Euro 2000 as well as the FIFA Confederation Cup in 2003.
At club level, Henry could not win the UEFA Champions League with Arsenal but he left a golden footprint at the Emirate where he still holds the key as the club's all time leading goalscorer with 228 goals in all competitions after eight years with the north London club.
Whilst playing for Arsenal the French striker won the Premier League and the FA Cup. He was also a four-time winner of the English Premier League Golden Boot Award, Three-time winner of the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year, Twice winner of the PFA Players' Player of the Year, Five-time winner of the French Player of the Year and twice winner of the European Golden Boot Award.
'King Henry' was part of the historic Arsenal 2004 team that played 49 games without a single defeat and as such tagged 'Invincible.'
On his twitter page Henry wrote, "I've been fortunate enough to have had an amazing playing career with many incredible memories and now I can't wait for the next chapter to begin with sky sports."
