Ghana ace Michael Essien will not be leaving his club AC Milan during the January transfer window, according to his agent.
Essien has been linked with a return to the English Premier League and Major League Soccer.
Before the summer transfer window shut, the 32-year-old was said to be considering a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor.
His agent Fabien Piveteau told Calcionews24.com: “Essien will not move from Milan. There were contacts with other clubs, the player will still be part of the Milan team and will not leave.”
The former Chelsea star has struggled for game time and is down the pecking order at the San Siro.
Essien shrugged off early season injuries to make eight appearances for the San Siro outfit.
