[caption id="attachment_274676" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Kotoko boss Opoku Nti says players are justified for demanding for more cash[/caption]Kotoko chief Samuel Opoku Nti has backed players to demand for huge cash following a career threatening injury on striker Francis Larbi Koomson. The former Ghanaian international lashed out at critics who have accused players of exchanging national pride with money. He says players deserve every penny they ask for and must be given what is due them.Larbi Koomson has undergone a successful operation after suffering a career threatening knee injury and the Kotoko Chief Executive has cited the incident as a point of evidence for players to demand more.“Players are entitled to huge bonuses and salaries at the time they are playing regularly, because after their playing days, there won't be any benefit for their services,” Opoku Nti is quoted by Kumasi-based Fox fm.“People criticize footballers for being paid well, just because their family members are not playing and if they were footballers, they wouldn't say certain things.“Parliamentarians receive ex-gratia after their tenure of office, but players get nothing following the end of their career and at the end people don't criticize Parliamentarians for that.“Larbi Koomson's career will come to an end if he doesn't get back to fitness to play again and if he didn't make enough savings, life would be difficult for him.”
