How Ghanaian STARS fared abroad: Essien dazzles in Milan derby, Bukari strikes again

Midfielder Michael Essien was in top shape for AC Milan in their 1-1 draw with rivals Inter Milan on Sunday night while Sadat Bukari scored a point winning goal for Astra in Romania.

Derek Asamoah also maintained his impressive scoring run in the English fourth-tier league.

ITALY
Sassuolo moved further away from the relegation zone after Torino 1-0 on Sunday. Ghana international midfielder Raman Chibsah was unused by Sassuolo.

Inter Milan loanee Adlfred Duncan sat on the Sampdoria bench when they held Cesena to a 1-1 on Sunday evening.

Young midfielder Godfred Donsah played the last 13 minutes for Cagliari who managed to hold Napoli to a 3-3 draw.

Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah played full throttle for Parma who lost 2-0 against Empoli.

Chievo Verona and Udinese shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Communale Fruili. Midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was introduced by Udinese in the 70th minute while Isaac Cofie came off the bench to play the last 3 minutes.

Michael Essien was the star-man for AC Milan in their 1-1 stalemate with Inter in the Milan derby on Sunday night. While he was playing the entire game for Milan Sulley Muntari played until the 76th minute. Youngster Isaac Donkor was on the Inter bench.

On Saturday, Atalanta lost 2-1 against AS Roma at their own backyard. Ghanaian international forward Boakye-Yiadom came off the bench in the 75th minute but he got sent off in the 95th minute.

Juventus cruised to an easy 3-0 win over Lazio. They won the game in the absence of Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah who is out injured.

In the Serie B, former Ghana U20 attacking midfielder Moses Odjer was unused by Catania who beat Latina 1-0. Neither Nii Nortey Ashong nor Nelson Atiagli was not in the Latina team for the game.

Genoa loanee Moro Al-Hassan was not in the Vicenza team when they drew 1-1 with Cittadella.

In other games, midfielder Amidu Salifu was a second-half substitute by Modena who beat Pescara 2-0. Maxwell Acosty missed the game with injury.  Youngster Ransford Selasi came off the bench in the 81st minute to play for Pescara.

Brescia and Carpi fought to a 3-3 draw. Former Inter Milan Primavera forward Isaac Ntow Tuah was not in the Brescia squad for the game.

Black Stars full-back Jeffrey Schlupp was a full timer for Leicester City when they drew 0-0 with Sunderland on Saturday.

Christian Atsu was brought on in the 89th minute by Everton who won 2-1 against West Ham United on Saturday.

English-born Ghanaian youngster Hiram Boateng could not make the Crystal Palace squad when they defeat Liverpool 3-1.

In the Championship, winger Albert Adomah was in full time action for Middlesbrough who held Wigan Athletic to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

In other games, youngster Koby Arthur was on the Birmingham City bench when they won 1-0 at Rotterdam United.

Bernard Mensah could not make the Watford squad for their 2-1 home reverse against Derby County.

In the League Two, attacker Derek Asamoah netted the opener for Carlisle United in their 4-2 away loss at struggling Dagenham & Redbridge.

Black Stars full-back Baba Rahman played full time for Augsburg when they beat VfL Stuttgart 1-0 in an away game.

Kevin-Prince Boateng assisted a goal for Schalke 04 in their 3-2 home triumph over Wolfsburg.

In the Bundesliga II, versatile defender Philemon Ofosu Aryeh played the last 22 minutes for Aalen who lost 4-0 at Bochum.

FRANCE
Jordan Ayew set up the only goal of the game for Lorient when they beat Lens 1-0.

In other games, French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah was not in the Caen team when they held AS Monaco to a 2-2 draw.

Kwame Nsor is still out with injury and missed Metz 3-2 home loss against PSG.

Andre Ayew watched from the stands at the Stade Velodrome as his Olympique Marseille side returned to the summit of the Ligue 1 table after beating Bordeaux 3-1.

SPAIN
Derek Boateng watched from the Eibar bench when they lost 4-0 against Real Madrid on Saturday.

Youngster Mohammed Fatau was not in the Rayo Vallecano team for their 1-0 win over Celta Vigo.

Elvis Manu was not in the Feyenoord team that won 2-0 against Dordrecht.

Kingsley Boateng and Jeffrey Sarpong both played for NAC Breda who lost 2-0 at Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday.
