How Ghanaian STARS fared abroad: Essien dazzles in Milan derby, Bukari strikes again

Midfielder Michael Essien was in top shape for AC Milan in their 1-1 draw with rivals Inter Milan on Sunday night while Sadat Bukari scored a point winning goal for Astra in Romania.

Derek Asamoah also maintained his impressive scoring run in the English fourth-tier league.

ITALY
Sassuolo moved further away from the relegation zone after Torino 1-0 on Sunday. Ghana international midfielder Raman Chibsah was unused by Sassuolo.

Inter Milan loanee Adlfred Duncan sat on the Sampdoria bench when they held Cesena to a 1-1 on Sunday evening.

Young midfielder Godfred Donsah played the last 13 minutes for Cagliari who managed to hold Napoli to a 3-3 draw.

Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah played full throttle for Parma who lost 2-0 against Empoli.

Chievo Verona and Udinese shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Communale Fruili. Midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was introduced by Udinese in the 70th minute while Isaac Cofie came off the bench to play the last 3 minutes.

FRANCE
Jordan Ayew set up the only goal of the game for Lorient when they beat Lens 1-0.

In other games, French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah was not in the Caen team when they held AS Monaco to a 2-2 draw.

Kwame Nsor is still out with injury and missed Metz 3-2 home loss against PSG.

Andre Ayew watched from the stands at the Stade Velodrome as his Olympique Marseille side returned to the summit of the Ligue 1 table after beating Bordeaux 3-1.

SPAIN
Derek Boateng watched from the Eibar bench when they lost 4-0 against Real Madrid on Saturday.

Youngster Mohammed Fatau was not in the Rayo Vallecano team for their 1-0 win over Celta Vigo.
