There will be a mammoth gathering of amateur and professional cyclists this Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium when the Cowbell Cycling League reaches its third and final stage.

The chase to be named the Overall Best Cyclist will be preceded by a non-competitive leisure ride through the principal streets of Accra in a race reserved for amateur cyclists dubbed; The Cowbell Bike Caravan which aims to promote safe cycling in the capital.

According to Inusah “Wadaada” Mohammed, an events representative of Cowbell Ghana Limited, the first 1000 participants in the Caravan will be put into a raffle draw where they will stand the chance to win Cowbell Bike Caravan t-shirts, bicycles, helmets and exercise books.

He said: “The Caravan starts at 6.00am and there will be lots of giveaways especially for the participants who come early. Cowbell like the previous two events in Tamale and Kumasi will present riders with Cowbell branded products, bicycles and helmets.

After the Caravan, the professional cyclists will take centre-stage in the Cowbell Cycling League as Isaac Sackey attempts to upset his Quick Step Club teammate and race leader, Samuel Anim.

Anim, 25, finished first in the Tamale Event before placing second in Kumasi and has stated that only a crash could prevent him from finishing as the overall winner of the competition after the final stage.

The Cycling League involves 12 teams represented by six riders each who will compete for the chance to win trophies, medals, cash prizes and products/souvenirs from Cowbell.

The day's event would be brought to a close with refreshment for all present.
