Oakland lost 16 straight games before breaking through in front of their home fans at the O.co Coliseum.

James Jones' touchdown inside the final two minutes - a nine-yard reception from quarterback Derek Carr - put the Raiders in front after they had coughed up a 14-point lead.

Carr finished with 18 completed passes for 174 yards and one touchdown, while Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith threw 20 completed plays for 234 yards and two TDs.

Kansas City's loss leaves them with a 7-4 record, as they missed the chance to top the American Football Conference's West division.

Earlier, two Latavius Murray touchdowns - one a 90-yard run - had the hosts in control in Oakland, but the Chiefs responded.

Kansas City playmaker Smith was influential, picking out Anthony Fasano and Jamaal Charles for 19- and 30-yard TDs respectively before kicker Cairo Santos slotted a 25-yard field goal to put the visitors in front - and it looked as though Oakland's woes would continue.

But Carr found Jones late on, much to the relief of coach Tony Sparano on the sidelines.
