Coach Maxwell Konadu has described what went into the team's 3-1 victory over Togo as a clear case of pressure.

The Stars put up a spirited performance last Wednesday to pick their African Cup of Nations ticket for next January's biennial soccer festival.

But coach Konadu told the media after the midweek clash that the emphatic victory did not come on a silver platter, having considered a potential second streak defeat and missing out on the championship and its repercussions on the nation.

He revealed that there was intense pressure on both the playing body and the technical team to win at all cost. Coach Konadu said, 'We were under pressure to win at all cost to qualify. We wanted to kill the game in the first half. I must admit it was a difficult game, but the team played to instructions and I want to commend them for that.

'They did very well, we needed this win to seal our qualification. The victory came through the hard way.

The support from the players was fantastic, I didn't know they will play like the way they did.

'You know Ghana soccer is in trying moments, the boys really did well,' he added.

He said at the press conference that he was ready to throw his weight behind any technical brain the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will appoint as the Stars head trainer.

Konadu took over from where Kwasi Appiah left off in the AFCON qualifiers, winning two games, drawing one and losing one, to qualify the Stars to the next Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars, after their not-too-impressive Brazil 2014 World Cup campaign, fell out of favour with most of their fans.
