Ricky Rubio unsure of Minnesota Timberwolves return

Rubio is nursing a sprained left ankle that he suffered against the Orlando Magic on November 7.

The 24-year-old Spaniard, who signed a four-year extension worth $55million last month, said a timeframe has not been put on his return, with the Timberwolves set to plan a rehabilitation program once the ankle swelling has gone down.

"I was feeling good, I think the best I've felt in the NBA," Rubio said on Thursday. "Especially the game in Brooklyn. I was feeling like I'd found my tempo. I was leading the team.

"But it's something that happened, you can't take it back. Just have to get back as soon as possible to help the team and feel that way again."

Rubio added: "I don't know how to say a time. But my family is coming for Christmas, so I hope they can see me playing.

"But I don't know the time. It's going to depend. Everybody's different."

Rubio was averaging 9.4 points, 10 assists and 5.6 rebounds in his five games for the Timberwolves before injury.
