The former Asante Kotoko trainer has qualified the nation to its 20th Africa Cup of Nations finals after leading the side to an impressive 3-1 win over Togo on Wednesday.Konadu had to take charge of the team at the height of difficult circumstances after Kwesi Appiah had been dismissed. He was however able to galvanize the side through these difficulties to book its place at next year's finals as winners of Group E.Konadu, who served as an assistant to Kwesi Appiah has thanked the entire team for offering him the required support during his four-match reign as interim coach.“The FA gave me two matches at first and they gave me another two and with the support I had from the players, I think it's has been fantastic working with them,” he said.“I never knew we could play like this because this period was a difficult time for Ghana football.“But with the unity we had, we have come out victorious.”Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant is all but certain to be named the next substantive coach of the Black Stars. The Ghana FA is however still in negotiations with the Israeli trainer over the final details of a proposed two-year deal.
