Ainooson Denies Poverty Reports

Asante Kotoko defender Abeiku Ainooson has denied media reports of being impoverished to the point of asking for a bailout from his mother.

The 24-year-old is reported to have turned to his mother for financial help to sort himself out of his current predicament in Kumasi.

Ainooson's alleged financial problems is linked to the delayed start of the Ghana Premier League where players now only have to rely on their meager salaries as against earning hefty bonuses for winning competitive matches.

But the Ghana CHAN star says these 'derogatory' reports of being impoverished are palpably false.

'It is not true that I am hungry here in Kumasi,' he told Happy FM.

'I only granted an interview that since the league is not in session, aside it affecting my form it makes players broke because there is no winning

bonus.
'These were my words and they were twisted to make it look as if I said I am hungry and that I had to call for an emergency bailout from my mother.

'That is never true. I am the bread winner for my family, my mum and my siblings; so how come I will now turn to them for financial bailout?'

Ainooson is currently out injured with a muscle problem.

He is however expected to return to action well in time for Kotoko's defence of the Premier League whose start date remains a mystery for now due to a court injunction.
