After overcoming Maria Sharapova in a marathon in Singapore two days earlier, Wozniacki was too good for Pole Radwanska in a 7-5 6-3 victory.

The Danish US Open runner-up, the eighth seed in the eight-woman field, holds a 2-0 record atop the White Group, while Radwanska is second at 1-1.

Wozniacki's consistency proved to be too much as she combined 20 winners with 18 unforced errors as opposed to sixth-seeded Radwanska's respective numbers of 25 and 31.

"I knew from the start that this wasn't going to be an easy match, this was going to be a match with a lot of long rallies and some incredible shot-making," she said after her win in an on-court interview.

"I came out a little bit nervous, but I just did my best out there. Sometimes I was like 'how did you play that ball? That's ridiculous'. But that's just her game, she has such good touch."

Wozniacki, a runner-up in 2010, fought back from a break down twice in the first set before battling to a 6-5 lead and serving out the set.

She broke in the third game of the second but was unable to consolidate, only to break again for 4-3 before seeing out her win.

Wozniacki said winning the event would be a massive achievement.

"Everyone wants to be here when we start the year. To hold up that trophy, it would mean so much to me," she said.
