Sports News Statistical analysis of Peyton Manning's NFL career
OCT 20, 2014 LISTEN

Manning found Denver Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas for an eight-yard score in the first quarter of Sunday's 42-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers to take him onto 509 career TDs - one more than Brett Favre's previous record.

The veteran completed another score to end the game on 510, and he will endeavour to improve on that benchmark as he looks to go one better than last season's run to the Super Bowl.

Having represented the Broncos with distinction since 2012 following 13 fine years as an Indianapolis Colt, Manning's list of milestones is impressive. Take a look.

510 - Total career touchdowns after Sunday's victory over San Francisco.

55 - An NFL record for touchdown passes in a single season, set by Manning last term as he eclipsed the previous record of 49 - which he also set while in Indianapolis.

5 - Manning has racked up more 'perfect' game ratings of 158.3 than any other QB.

342.31 - Manning's average yards per game last season - an NFL record.

7 - Manning is one of seven men to have thrown seven touchdowns in a game - an NFL joint record

26 - Manning's record of 26 touchdowns thrown in a rookie season went uncontested for 14 years until Russell Wilson matched it in 2012 with the Seattle Seahawks. Manning's strength of character is displayed by the fact he also threw a rookie record 28 interceptions in 1998.

227 - Number of consecutive starts Manning made after being drafted by the Colts - an NFL record.

78 - No starting QB has won more road games than Manning in NFL history.

-0.6 - Manning's rushing average over four years in college, perhaps proving beyond doubt that he's best going through the air!

5 - Times voted NFL MVP (2003, 2004, 2008, 2009,2013)

13 - Times elected to Pro Bowl.
2000-2009 - Manning was at his absolute best in the 'noughties', posting 42,254 yards and 314 TDs, each records for a single decade in NFL.
