Asante Kotoko quartet of Eric Ofori Antwi, Latif Amadu, Kwadwo Poku and Abdullai Dauda have been handed call-ups by Ghana U23 coach Malik Jabir.

Goalkeeper Ofori Antwi, who joined Kotoko from Amidaus Professional in early August, is making the progression into the U23 ranks after shinning for the Ghana U20 side at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey last year.

However, the rest of the invitees are new to youth national team call-ups – Latif, a former Berekum Chelsea attacker has no recognisable spell with any of the junior nationals as well as Kwadwo Poku and new signing Abdullai Dauda.

The Black Meteors are expected to begin preparations next week ahead of their international friendly with Egypt's Olympics team.

Black Meteors Management Committee member Charles Kwadwo Ntim has however rubbished the news of the call-ups insisting the names are yet to be unwrapped.

“The list is not true as no player has been officially invited. Management will meet with the technical team on Tuesday. Any player who reports to Prampram does so at his own risk,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
