Liverpool legend John Barnes believes Black Stars can bounce back from a disappointing 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign in Brazil and win back Ghanaians.

The players have been accused of lacking commitment after threatening to boycott Ghana's final Group G match if their appearance fees were not paid.

The Black Stars were booed during their training sessions last month ahead of playing Uganda in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at home.

That apathy and lack of support from Ghanaians played a massive role in the team's disappointing 1-1 draw with the Cranes.

With two matches against Guinea to come this month, Barnes says the players have the credentials to produce performances that will win back the love of the masses.

“Ghana has unique players that can make a difference at any point in time. What happened in Brazil can only be forgotten with good results,” Barnes said.

“They can only win back the love of the people with good results and because they have quality players they can achieve that.”
