Football's world governing body FIFA says Ghanaians must be happy with the quality of football displayed by the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup describing Ghana's match against Germany high level of football.

This analysis was made by Thiery Regenass, FIFA Director of Member Associations and Development, during a high level meeting of African coaches in Cairo on Tuesday.

The FIFA official described the Ghana-Germany second Group G match at the summer World Cup in Brazil as one of the top games of the tournament in Brazil.

Regenass, leading the FIFA/CAF conference for national coaches and technical directors for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil in Cairo, Egypt said that “Ghana-Germany game was a high level of football.”

Regenass who is one of FIFA's representatives at the seminar meant to discuss technical details for member countries at the World Cup said “Ghana can be so proud of their team. They were also very close to reaching the next round”.

The Black Stars finished at the foot of Group G following an embarrassing campaign at the competition they have previously excelled. The team's only point came from an impressive two-all drawn match with the eventual winners of the tournament, Germany.

Rating Africa's performance at the competition for the best 32 teams in the world, Regenass said “Two teams from Africa at the second round was good. Algeria were a surprise and Nigeria did well too.

“Cote d'Ivoire were close to reaching the next stage. Nigeria too did well. The general level of African teams was extraordinarily high.”

Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Francis Oti Akenteng who was expected to attend with former coach, Kwesi Appiah is the only Ghanaian representative at the seminar instead of the invited two.
