Member of Parliament for Tema East Daniel Titus Glover has described the sacking of Kojo Adu Asare as an act of cowardice while Elvis Afriyie Ankrah is still at post as a Minister of State following Ghana's shambolic campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

The ex MP for Adentan was given the boot as the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Enterprise Support Fund (YES) just two months into the appointment.

The sack has been linked to his appearance before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry gathering facts about what actually happened in Brazil.

Adu Asare was the head of the Ministerial sub-committee in charge of Protocol and Supporters Welfare.

His committee handled the selection of travel and tour agencies mandated to air-lift fans to Brazil to go and support the Black Stars.

Adu Asare however conceded during his appearance before the Presidential Commission failed to discharge their due diligence task to the latter in their selection of three travel and tour agencies for the World Cup.

That admission raised a lot of doubts over the competence of the former Member of Parliament to handle a sensitive sector such as the YES.

President John Mahama a few weeks later dismissed Adu Asare in the believe he was least impressed with his performance before the Presidential Commission.

But Titus Glover says this is an act of cowardice especially with the ex Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah still at post as a minister of state.

“The President is a coward. How can he sack Adu Asare and then leave Elvis Afriyie Acquah in government?” Glover told Kumasi-based Hello FM.

“The man in charge of the whole fiasco is still in government while the chairman of a sub-committee has been booted out. What kind of double standards is that?

“If Adu Asare is being fired because of the fiasco in Brazil, why then do we have Elvis Afriyie Ankrah who presided over this shameful episode still at post ? Do you see why I tell you the President is a coward?”

“ Adu Asare is not the real culprit but then the one who was entrusted with the country's resources and messed up is walking around a free man.”
