Sports News Appiah: I never lost control of dressing room
SEP 17, 2014 LISTEN

Dismissed coach of the Black Stars,  Kwasi Appiah says he was the boss and no one disrespected him.

Ghana Football Association boss, Kwasi Nyantakyi had in an interview asserted that one of the reasons leading to Appiah's sack was that he lost control of the dressing room, a reason Appiah hotly contested.

"I keep asking what (lost control of dressing room) does that mean? " He told Metro Tv.

"To my understanding,  if a coach loose control of the dressing room,  that means that,  whatever the coach tells the players,  they don't do it.

"In my case, players who were showing signs of indiscipline or being disrespectful were disciplined. If I was not in charge,  how could I have sent Sulley (Muntari) and Kevin (Prince Boateng)out of the camp? If i was not in charge,  there's no way I could have made Essien (Michael) and Kevin (prince Boateng) sit on the bench?

"Once I made decisions and they don't do what they want,  then I had control.  So I don't see where the coach hasn't got control over the players came from,'' he noted.

Kwasi Appiah is expected to make an appearance before the Justice Dzamefe commission on Thursday.
