Kwadwo Asamoah dominated the headlines among Ghanaian players in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday night after setting up the Old Ladies' solitary goal in their narrow win over Swedish side Malmo FF. 

The Black Stars midfielder set up the opening goal just before the hour mark for Carlos Tevez before the Argentine doubled their advantage by scoring the second on the brink of the final whistle.

Tevez found himself some space inside the box to get on the end of a brilliant pass from Kwadwo Asamoah and sent the ball into the bottom left corner to break down the resolve of the Allsvenskan side.

Asamoah lasted the entire duration of the game as Juventus opened the group with a crucial home win. And, while Asamoah was dazzling in midfield, former Ghana U17 midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi also played in defensive midfield role for Malmo.

Elsewhere at the Türk Telekom Arena, winger Frank Acheampong marked his debut in the competition for Anderlecht as he played full throttle for the Royal Blues in their 1-1 stalemate against Galatasaray. The former King Faisal playmaker was booked in the 64th minute.

Karim Bellarabi played the full 90 minutes for Bayer Leverkusen but could not help them avoid a 1-0 loss at the hands of France's AS Monaco. Portuguese attacker João Moutinho with a 60th minute strike.
