Paa Kwesi Fabin is not to prepared to surrender a first leg win in the qualifying for the 2015 African Under-17 Championship after guiding Ghana to a win over Cameroon.

The Black Starlets recorded an important 2-1 victory away in Yaounde on Saturday ahead of the return game next weekend in Accra.

Ernest Agyiri and Abass Issah were the goalscorers as Ghana raced into a two-nil lead before Martin Hongla helped the home side pull one back.

Fabin, in his second spell as coach of the national U-17 team is eager to ensure qualification as he protects his first leg win.

"I want to qualify the Black Starlets for the Championship," Fabin said.

"We hold the lead but it's not done yet. We have lots of work to do. Despite winning, we still need to correct certain areas."

The overall winner will qualify for the finals alongside hosts Niger for the tournament scheduled for 15 February – 1 March next year.

"We expect them[Cameroon] to come fighting. They will be aggressive and we cannot sit back," the Ghana coach said.

The semi-finalists at the continental championship will represent Africa at the FIFA U-17 World Cup fixed for 17 October – 8 November in Chile.
