Ghana Association Of Savings & Loans Companies Launches Football Gala

Kumasi, 22nd September, 2014 – The Ghana Association of Savings and Loans Companies (GHASALC) is launching its maiden edition of 'GHASALC Football Gala', aimed at bringing all members together through recreational activities.

The event to be organised by the Global Media Alliance and sponsored by Opportunity International Savings and Loans Limited (OISL), will take place at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on Monday, 22nd of September, 2014 at 8am.

Commenting on the gala, the General Secretary of GHASALC, Eunice Brako Marko, said: “The gala is also to get our members together and exchange ideas, and we are proud of our contribution to the country's economy by further expanding financial service accessibility to the unbanked and those who are underserved by commercial banks.”

Kwame Owusu-Boateng, the Chief Executive Officer of Opportunity International Savings and Loans Limited (OISL), also said OISL is proud to sponsoring the first football gala for savings and loans companies in Ghana.

“As a player in the industry, OISL is committed to investing in our country and our people and our sponsorship reflects our passion for the growth and development of this important sector,” Owusu-Boateng explained.

All 24 members of GHASALC would battle it out for the ultimate trophy through knockout phases with winners at each round progressing to the next stage of the competition. With all the knockout stages being played on the same day, participants and spectators alike are in for a great day of excitement and sportsmanship.
