According to a Graphic Sports publication, sources close to the Hamburg U19 coach say he would consider putting in his application.
The 39-year-old holds a UEFA License B coaching certificate and a German Football Federation coaching certificate.
He was hired as a scout for Ghana during the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.
Addo playing career, which saw him represent Hannover 96, Mainz 05, Borrusia Dortmund and Hamburg, was hampered by injuries.
He played at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.
