National Sports Authority spokesperson Hamid Issaka has expressed at the non-functional score board at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Ghana FA had to decide against playing the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda in Accra due to the poor conditions at the stadium.

The scoreboard has been out of order for over three years whiles the turf has come in criticism from both players and authorities with in that period.

Issaka says the conditions at the stadium give him sleepless nights.

He said: “It's a real bother to me. They gave us reasons why we could not host the game between Ghana and Uganda with the paramount one being the non-functional score board.

“The position of the score board is towards the sea, so the interaction between the metals and sea leads to the rusting of the parts of the scoreboard.

“In the past we use to remove the parts from Kumasi and other stadia to fix in when we had tough games, but we were advised against that as it could lead to the non-functioning of the boards at the various stadia across.

“Now we have to pray we are able to come up with a final solution that will make the people of Accra see their team play.”
