Five Ghanaian players in UEFA Champions League handed tough assignments

Ghana players left in the prestigious UEFA Champions League have been handed tough oppositions in the draws conducted with just five Ghanaians left in Europe's flagship club competition.

Juventus utility player Kwadwo Asamoah and Kevin-Prince Boateng of Schalke have the brightest chance of reaching the knock out stages of the competition.

Daniel Opare's hopes with Porto could be said to be alive while Enoch Adu Kofi and Frank Acheampong face arduous tasks in steering their clubs to the latter stages of the competition.

Asamoah's Juventus are the favoutires to top Group A even though they have been drawn to face impressive Spanish side Atletico Madrid, stubborn Greek giants Olympiakos and Swedish club Malmo.

The clash with Malmo means that Asamoah will get the chance to play against Kofi even though the Swedish club's chance of advancing is very slim given the pedigree of clubs they face.

Boateng of Schalke is still very much in the frail in Europe's biggest club competition having been drawn to face Chelsea, Maribor Teatanic and Sporting Lisbon.

Porto can count on Opare to play against Shakstar Donestk of Ukraine, Athletic Bilbao of Spain and Ba te Borisov.

Achemapong's Anderlecht seem to have the toughest hurdle having been pitched against Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray.

Real Madrid and reigning EPL champions, Manchester City alongside Roma.
