MTN Ghana Limited has donated a total of GHC 25,000.00 to Kumasi Asante Kotoko as part of their contractual obligations to the Porcupine Warriors at the company's headquarters at Ridge in Accra.

The Chief Executive Officer of MTN, Serame Taukobong acknowledged the passion in which the game of football was played on the local scene and the continent at large and charged on the club not to rest on their oars but strive to make greater heights and extend their dominance to the continent.

But acting CEO of Kotoko, Samuel Opoku Nti recounted the sacrifices made by officials of the club, the technical team and players  in getting this far and promised to put in a very good showing in the CAF Champions League next year.

“The purpose here is to show appreciation for your support. If not for the relationship with MTN, we wouldn't have won all these titles.MTN organized the FA Cup and therefore it was an honour for us to win the competition.

“We also won the league and therefore we are here to present the trophies to you. It is an honour to be here and we will want to acknowledge you for the huge financial support you have given to the team. We will want to find ways by which to ensure you get the desired returns on the massive investment you have made in the club.” He added.

The Porcupine Warriors made a double last season by winning the First Capital Plus Premier League and the MTN FA Cup, a competition which is both sponsored by their headline sponsors.

This effort thus lands the club GHC 15,000.00 for the Ghana League and GHC 10,000.00 for winning the MTN FA Cup.
