Chief Executive Officer of Inter Allies, Delali Senaya says due the current economic hardship in Ghana, his club side can't afford to represent Ghana at the Continental level in the CAF Confederations League.

Inter Allies gets the opportunity to participate in this year's CAF Confederations cup after being runners up in the MTN FA Cup tournament as Kotoko won both the league and the FA cup to represent in both leagues.

Accra Hearts of Oak who placed third on the premier league table will join the Tema based side as the two clubs to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations cup whiles Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions will be participating in the CAF Champions league.

But according to the Chief Executive officer of Inter Allies the club's financial standings is nothing to write home about.

“It is a difficult decision for Inter Allies to make, looking at the economic hardships currently in the country and therefore it is very difficult to play in Africa, even though MTN have done very well to give us 50, 000 cedis as financial support but it is peanut when it's been converted into Dollars due to the rise in the dollar rate.” He said.

Meanwhile, Inter Allies have started their pre season at the Lizzy sports complex in East Legon under their new coach Yaw Acheampong and will be using facilities of the gym at the Accra sports stadium. Story by Ghana/Asempa Sports/ Evans Amewugah
