Three in the Shield

Two first half goals from Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey and a second half fire-cracker from Olivier Giroud was enough for Arsenal to win the 2014 FA Community Shield Cup on Sunday at Wembley.

Hot favourite Manchester City shipped in three goals for the first time after 34 matches as the gunners break the wind of speed at Wembley to dissipate City's lackluster defence.

The gunners took the lead in the 21st minute through Spanish midfielder Santiago Cazorla whose goal set the tone for Arsenal to come out of their ghost of trophy drought when they came from two goals down to wrestle the FA Cup from Hull City on May 17 at Wembley.

Welsh man, Aaron Ramsey made it two in the 42nd minute for Arsenal with a simple but applaud deserving goal.

Sanchez ball from the right saw Yaya Sanogo. The French striker then released Ramsey outside the box who dinked one passed Nastasic before slotting home the equalizer.

Arsene Wenger replaced Yaya Sanogo, Alexis Sanchez and Laurent Koscielny with Olivier Giroud, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Nacho Monreal from the break whiles Manuel Pelligrini also replaced former Arsenal play maker Samir Nasri with fast forward attacking David Silva.

With the introduction of Silva the Premier League Champions started to threaten up high the field but the Arsenal defenders were up to their questions.

Cometh the hour mark, French striker Olivier Giroud produced a fire-cracker from 25 yards out which went straight into the roof of the net to put the game to bed for Arsenal to give the fans hopes of good things to come in the season.
