The 32-year-old has spent his entire career with the franchise after being selected as the 28th overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft.

Parker's previous deal was due to expire at the end of next season, but the Spurs confirmed on Friday that the legendary France international has agreed to proloing his stay on terms that were not disclosed.

Belgium-born Parker has forged a reputation as one of the best point guards in the NBA and was voted the MVP in the 2007 finals.

A four-time NBA champion, Parker has appeared in 940 regular season games for San Antonio, averaging 17.1 points, six assists and three rebounds in 32.6 minutes, and he has featured in 196 play-off games.

He has also appeared in six All-Star games - including in each of the last three showpiece matches - and has the highest number of assists in the history of the franchise in both regular season and play-off games.
