Everton are close to completing a deal to sign Ghana international Christian Atsu on a season-long loan, according to report in England.
The Toffees completed the £28million record signing of Romelu Lukaku on a five-year contract from The Blues on Wednesday and, are now confident that they will be able to recruit Atsu as well.
The 22-year-old was left out of Chelsea's 3-1 pre-season win over Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem - the club where he spent last season on loan at.
It's now understood that Everton are hoping to seal a loan move for the player, with the Lukaku negotiations paving the way for a deal.
A host of clubs are believed to tracking Atsu - including Aston Villa and Sunderland - but Everton remain favourites to land the player.
Chelsea signed Atsu from Porto for £5million in the summer of 2013.
