Fred Pappoe: People Are Making The GFA Presidency Life And Death Affair

Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, Fred Pappoe, aka 'Papsey' claim some people are trying to make the GFA presidency more or less a life and death affair. Rumours were rife that fellow Executive Committee member Abbey would challenge Nyantakyi during the 2015 polls and the emergence of the T-shirt has given some legs to the story.

The inscriptions on the T-shirt reads "We Want Randy To Rule GFA" with the rear reading "BRING RANDY NOW." Fred Pappoe however said, "I have spoken to Randy about T-shirt thing and it seems he is not aware of the people behind it, neither has he contracted some people to do it on his behalf."

Adding that,"What i think is, some people are making the GFA presidency be like life and death affair, which shouldn't be the case, but if T-shirts could be printed in Randy's name without his consent then it is a serious matter." Randy was a former spokes person of the GFA so Pappoe believes he can contest without hiding behind other people.

"I believe that if Randy wants to contest for the GFA president, he can do so and he needs not to hide behind some people because he qualifies to contest under our status, so as all congress men," he
opined.

The GFA presidency will be up for grabs come next year and it is expected that Randy Abbey will contest though he has come out to deny his involvement with circulating T-shirt in Kumasi. However, Papsey believes, since it is not yet to for people to contest for the presidency Nyantakyi is still left with a year for his assessment.

"It is left with a year, so I think Kwesi Nyantakyi can't be assessed to find out whether there should be a change or not," the Executive Committee member of the local Black Stars told the media.
