JUL 31, 2014 LISTEN

The New South Wales-based team have not beaten the Crusaders in their past 11 games dating back to 2004 and two of those losses were in Super Rugby finals " a 35-25 loss in 2005 and a 20-12 defeat in 2008.

But the Waratahs will enter the 2014 decider in fine form having scored the most points of any side in the regular season and conceded the least, while the Crusaders ranked second in attack and third in defence.

In another boost for Waratahs coach Michael Cheika, his team will host the final at ANZ Stadium, something different to the last two finals between the two clubs, which were both held in Christchurch.

The NZ-based Crusaders are the most successful team in Super Rugby history with seven titles, although they have not won since 2008.

But adding to the intrigue is the fact these two teams did not meet in the regular season, meaning form guides are difficult to analyse.

Both Cheika and his opposite number at the Crusaders - Todd Blackadder - have named unchanged line-ups after their respective semi-final victories last week.

The Waratahs defeated fellow Australian side the Brumbies 26-8 last week, while the Crusaders cruised past the Durban-based Sharks 38-6.
