Ghana defender David Addy has agreed a deal to join Belgian top-flight side Wassland Beveren, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 24-year-old arrived in Beveren on Wednesday afternoon to complete some key formalities before sealing the deal with the Belgian Pro League side, Ghana's leading football news outlet GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

Addy, a talented left-back, will join the club on as a free agent after opting not to extend his contract with Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.

He will sign a two-year contract with the option for another if he passes physical and medical tests to be conducted by the club on Wednesday and Thursday.

Addy is hoping to revive his career after joining Portuguese giants Porto but never managed to impose himself at the Blues and Whites, which eventually led to him being loaned to Académica and Greek side Panetolikos.

Before arriving at Porto, Addy had already played for Danish side Randers where he was poached by the Portuguese side following his excellent showing at the U20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009.

Addy began his football career in Ghana at SC Adelaide before playing for  Inter Allies and Wa All Stars FC.

He arrived in Europe at the age of 18 and spent two years with Randers before moving to Porto.

Addy won the Portuguese Cup with Vitória Guimarães 2002/3 football season.
