The coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Mas-ud Didi Dramani has expressed passionate grief over the prevalent movement of Ghanaian players abroad to seek greener pastures.

He believes that domestic football in Ghana can only progress if players are maintained for a couple of years in the league, but due to the economic difficulties, clubs are not able to sustain the pressure.

Asante Kotoko is one of the clubs who have been finding it difficult to keep their star players, due lack of financial power to do so and the head coach of the club thinks it is the more reason why domestic football in Ghana is descending.

'For Ghana football to progress, we need to let players stay on for at least three years, without being transferred outside, he told Metro fm.

'If this is done, surely the league is going to be rich, because our quality players would stay, but unfortunately if a player emerges, we cash on him, hence making the league to suffer for that.

'We then have to start nurturing and this is due to the difficult economic situation, which seems inevitable at the moment.'

The former Black Maidens coach added that he has no knowledge of the mass transfer of Kotoko players abroad.

'I don't really know the number of players, who have left Kotoko, but I only know of Seidu Bancey, which a club has written to us for his services and even here he is going for medicals, which doesn't mean the deal has been sealed.'

Didi Dramani is yet to return to the Porcupine warriors after his contract negotiations with the club stalled some two weeks ago.
