The Ghanaian is through to the quarter finals of the men's 60kg event after securing a unanimous decision over Rwanda's Olivier Nshingiro. The judges scored the bout 30:27 over the three rounds, meaning Lartey won every round.
Same was the story for another boxer on Team Ghana's Black Bombers, Abdul Omar who defeated Junior Kauko Raka to qualify for the quarter finals in the flyweight division.
