Transfer Update: Liverpool pull out of Remy deal
27.07.2014 LISTEN

Loic Remy
Liverpool have pulled out of the deal to sign striker Loic Remy according to reports in England.

The French player was due to sign a four year contract after successful negotiations in the past week but the Reds have suddenly pulled out.

Despite the Anfield club declining to comment on the reason for not going ahead with the deal, reports coming from their Chicago base where the club are on pre-season suggest the Queens Park Rangers player failed to pass a medical.

Both parties are disappointed as Remy was desperate for Champions League football next season and Brendan Rodgers was looking forward to signing the World Cup striker at a moderate fee.

Remy flown to Boston for his medical and to negotiate his weekly wages but has returned home after the deal broke down.

Romelu Lukaku
Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku is keen in joining English Premier League side Everton where he spent last season on loan on a permanent deal.

Everton head of recruitment Ian Atkins told talkSPORT the Belgium international was set in mind to join the club where he scored 19 goals last season. Atkins said:

'Romelu had a terrific season for Everton last year and I know everyone at the football club wants to see him back.

'Hopefully things can be sorted out, I think he's quite settled in his mind that he wants to come to Everton, and hopefully he'll be pulling on our blue shirt again next term.

'Our loan signings all did brilliantly for us last season. Gareth Barry has signed permanently now which is fantastic, and hopefully Lukaku will as well.

'I know the manager would like him back at Everton and I'm sure if he comes he'll be a great asset and can help us get to that next level of European football.'

Lukaku has also been linked with Real Madrid as a back-up transfer target if the Champions League winners fail to sign Radamel Falcao from Monaco.

Victor Moses
West Bromich Albion are weighing their options to make an offer for Chelsea flop Victor Moses, taking him on a season long loan.

The Nigerian was sent on loan to Liverpool last season but failed to get enough playing time under his belt.

Moses joined Chelsea from Wigan Athletic in 2012 in a £9 million transfer deal.

David Ospina
Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Columbia goalkeeper David Ospina from Nice.

Arsene Wenger said of his new signing:
'David Ospina is an excellent goalkeeper, with good experience and a proven record of performing with Nice and Colombia.

'He will add strength to our squad and we are very pleased that he will be joining us.'

Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba is set to be offered a contract extension at Juventus with several Italian papers claiming the former Manchester United player could sign a new contract to keep him with the Italian Champions until 2019.

This will come as a huge blow to Manchester United and Chelsea who have been reported interested in the Juventus player.

The Italian Champions are willing to increase the wages of the 21-year-old to around €3.2 million per season with another €1 million in bonuses.

Daniel Agger
Barcelona have been strongly linked with Liverpool defender Daniel Agger who has not ruled out a move away from the Anfield club.

The Spanish giants see the Danish defender as the most affordable option as they try to strengthen their defence ahead of the 2014/2015 season.

The Catalan club have also been linked with Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen and Tottenham Hotspur's Jan Vertonghen.
