Adu amazingly only turned 25 last month after a career which has already seen him have spells with limited success in places as diverse asP ortugal, France, Greece, Turkey and Brazil.
Just last month he was training with Championship club Blackpool but he failed to earn a contract.
Adu also had a trial with Manchester United when he was teenager and made his debut in the MLS for DC United when he was just 14 years old back in 2004.
