League Report Sponsorship deal in danger: Kit agent threatens court action against Kotoko
JUL 25, 2014 LISTEN

According to Alagidede, he introduced Kotoko to the Kit manufacturers as their sole agent in West Africa by sending a proposal to them and after their management had met with the board they decided not to continue with the deal.

However,  Kotoko later published in their official mouth piece which  is the Kotoko express that they have been offered a $34,000 Kit sponsorship deal by Kubba and the broker of the deal feel he was ditched by the acting General Manager of the Club, Opoku Nti and George Kennedy, the Operations Manager, hence the need to battle Kotoko in the law court.

'I did talk to Christopher Opoku, an ace journalist and he introduced me to Opoku Nti and George Kennedy, so I sent a proposal worth $350,000 to them as the sole agent of Kubba Kit Manaufacturing Company in Singapore and I was entitled to 10% of the deal,' Alagidede told Metro fm.

'But the board of Kotoko told me they were not interested in the sponsorship after the management finally sent it to their desk for approval.

'It was just some few days ago that I read from Kotoko express that they have been offered a Kit Sponsorship from Kubba, the same group I introduced to Kotoko and that samples of the kits have been sent to them for inspection.

'I will sue Kotoko at  the law court to ensure justice, so I have reported the issues to my lawyers (Akuffo Addo and Prempeh law chambers) for careful studying.

Currently, Kotoko doesn't have a kit sponsor and management believes that, securing a kit sponsor will help save money. Therefore, indications are that, if discussions on the Kubba contract go well, Kotoko will have a kit sponsor for next season.

On the contrary the move by the Michael Alagidede could jeopardize, the deal between Kotoko and Kubba Kit Manufacturers.
