AmaZulu midfielder, John Arwuah, has said that they're aiming at winning the Charity Showdown tournament in Johannesburg this weekend.

The player revealed that their preparations are going well and they're working on rectifying their last season's errors.

Although the Ghanaian player said they didn't finish well last season, he claims they'll have a better 2014/15 season. He also said the coach, Craig Rosslee, has already told them about what needs to be done.

'We didn't finish as well as we would have liked. We tried to work very hard from the start of the season, but I think the lack of concentration and other factors contributed to our poor finishing.  However, the guys are energised and we're now focusing on taking the club to the next level. Our aim is to improve as a team as we were not happy to have missed the top eight spot,' said Arwuah.

Usuthu are already camping in Johannesburg ahead of their Charity Showdown tournament and Arwuah sees the tournament as an opportunity to boost their confidence and enhance unity.

'This challenge means we'll have a chance to measure our progress so far. The tournament will give us a chance to fine-tune our strategy, work on our sharpness and rectify our errors. We will take this opportunity to win the cup. We love our supporters and we're all part of the Usuthu family. We want to do everything in our power this season to bring a trophy home for them,' added the former SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic player.

The inaugural tournament is sponsored by e.tv and aims to raise funds for charity organisations. The first game is at 09:00 between Bloemfontein Celtic and Bidvest Wits whilst Usuthu will face Mpumalanga Black Aces at 12:00.
