Gallant warrior: Afriyie Acquah: We cant afford to miss Muntaris quality
24.07.2014 LISTEN

Young Ebenezer Afriyie Acquah is backing the return of Sulley Ali Muntari to the Black Stars set-up as the countdown begins to another Africa Cup quest by the national team come next January in Morocco.

'For me, Sulley is one of the most committed Black Stars players you can always count on in very difficult situations,' Afriyie Acquah said.

Muntari boasts over ten years of international football experience and is a veteran of three FIFA World Cups but was expelled from the Ghana camp at the recent Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup for indisciplinary acts which came to a head when he apparently physically assaulted GFA executive and Black Stars Management Committee member, Moses Armah.

Muntari has been placed on an indefinite suspension from the national along with fellow Brazil 2014 'bad boy,' Kevin-Prince Boateng even though Coach Kwesi Appiah has indicated that the national team door is not entirely closed on the duo.

The Black Stars do not begin the qualifiers until September against a yet-to-be known opponent but for 21 year old Acquah, there can be no margin for error why Ghana must have the AC Milan midfielder around for the search for a first continental title since 1982.

'We all saw his gallantry in the two matches that he played at the World Cup in Brazil. His determination and selflessness was evident. We cannot afford to miss these good qualities in the Black Stars,' Afriyie Acquah stated.
