Maritzburg United defender John Pantsil believes he still have up to five more years before he hangs up his boots.

Pantsil, 33, has joined United on a two-year deal after leaving South African second-tier side Santos FC.

The experienced right-back will play at the top level of South African football in the next two seasons and says his body can take up to four or five years.

“I still feel that I have a lot more to offer,” Paintsil added. “Even though I'm 33, I don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke. I've looked after myself all my career,” he said

“When I'm running I don't feel my legs giving up, so I still feel strong and fit. I'll take it one year at a time, but I think I can still go for at least four or five years.”

Pantsil is Ghana's second most capped player with 88 international appearances under his belt.

He could stage a return to the Black Stars if he enjoys regular playing time with the South African side.
